Sonam (left) and Nome carefully make their way up Tro La pass, aware that under the rock lies a layer of perma-ice that can instantly give way sending stones (and humans) skiing down hundreds of metres. The pass was called "Crying Pillar Pass", because of its abilities to inflict suffering upon even the strongest of travelers.
